CONCORD – Today, the Senate voted Ought to Pass with Amendment on SB 144, Senator Becky Whitley’s (D-Hopkinton) bill to implement a 3-month pilot program to provide enrollment-based reimbursement to child care providers who accept child care scholarships through the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) plan for New Hampshire. The bill will next go before the House for a public committee hearing.

After the vote, prime sponsor Senator Becky Whitley (D-Hopkinton) issued the following statement:

“We know that access to safe, affordable child care is essential to a thriving economy. SB 144 has been negotiated at length with DHHS and contains rigorous reporting requirements that will be essential in the next budget cycle. I am grateful to my colleagues for their ongoing support of this important policy change.”
