CONCORD – Today, Senator David Watters (D-Dover) introduced SB 447, establishing the electric vehicle and infrastructure fund, to the Senate Transportation Committee. The bill has not yet been acted on and will remain in committee until a vote is taken during an Executive Session.
After the hearing, prime sponsor Senator David Watters (D-Dover) issued the following statement:
“Electric vehicles represent one of the best tools we have for reducing our carbon footprint. In other states, the stage is already being set to require all new car sales to be electric vehicles by as early as 2035. New Hampshire may currently be behind the curve on adapting our state to the future of the automotive industry but by making strategic investments like the ones outlined in SB 447, we have the opportunity to not just survive in the changing landscape, but to become national leaders in clean energy.”
