CONCORD – Today, Senator Tom Sherman (D-Rye) introduced SB 71 to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. SB 71 establishes a commission to develop science-based emissions reduction goals for the state of New Hampshire.
After the hearing, prime sponsor Senator Tom Sherman (D-Rye) issued the following statement:
“Reducing air pollution and emissions is a critical public health, economic, and environmental issue. Last year, we worked across the aisle to research steps that would develop an emission reduction goal for 2050 of net zero emissions. By establishing this commission, we can create New Hampshire solutions to reduce emissions, protect public health, stimulate economic growth, protect the environment, and maintain our competitive advantage.”
