CONCORD – Today, the Senate Ways and Means Committee unanimously passed Senator Cindy Rosenwald’s (D-Nashua) Restaurant Relief Act of 2021. If enacted, the Restaurant Relief Act of 2021 would temporarily change the operator compensation under the meals and rooms tax from 3% to 5%.
After the vote, prime sponsor Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement:
“The COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating economic impacts on our restaurant and lodging industries. As amended, the Restaurant Relief Act of 2021 puts money directly back in the pockets of our restaurants and lodging industries, providing much needed financial relief and saving thousands of jobs across the state. I thank my colleagues for their bipartisan support and look forward to bringing this important legislation before the full Senate.”
