CONCORD – Today, Deputy Senate Democratic Leader Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) was replaced on the Committee of Conference for HB 2, also known the budget trailer bill. Senator Rosenwald was replaced by Senator Gary Daniels (R-Milford) in a standard procedure where conferees unwilling to agree to the will of the majority are replaced by members of the majority party.
After her removal, Senator Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement:
“Right now, eight Republicans are making decisions on behalf of the state of New Hampshire that will impact us for decades to come. I was proud to voice my dissent and stand up for the Granite Staters who will be negatively affected by the reckless changes being pushed by House and Senate Republicans. I was proud to say no to denying federal relief funding to our new small businesses, no to school vouchers, no to restricting access to reproductive health care, no to tax cuts that primarily benefit the wealthiest among us, and no to unconstitutional gag rules that limit our freedom of speech. The budget should work for the benefit of all Granite Staters. Instead, this extremist "Robin Hood in Reverse" piece of legislation seeks to shape our societal values and create the New Hampshire disadvantage.”
