CONCORD – Today, Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) introduced SB 319 to the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. SB 319 requires that all full risk group market health coverage offered by health carriers to employers shall provide a wellness financial incentive to insured persons when voluntarily supplied with sufficient evidence the insured is currently fully vaccinated for Covid-19 at the time of enrollment. The bill repeals this requirement in 2023.
Prime Sponsor Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement after the hearing:
“New Hampshire hospitals are overwhelmed in the fight against the current surge of COVID-19. As of this morning, only 6.8% of our staffed adult ICU beds were available. SB 319 aims to help reduce the burden on our hospitals by providing a financial wellness incentive for people to be voluntarily fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This simple policy has the potential to provide tremendous cost savings to our hospitals and insurers while enhancing our state’s public health efforts.”
