Senator Rosenwald Champions Efforts to Increase State Vaccination Rates
CONCORD – Today, in a vote of 13-11, the Senate voted Ought to Pass with Amendment on Senator Cindy Rosenwald’s (D-Nashua) bill, SB 319, to enable all full risk group market health coverage offered by health carriers to employers to provide a wellness financial incentive to insured persons when voluntarily supplied with sufficient evidence the insured is currently fully vaccinated for COVID-19 at the time of enrollment. The bill will next be sent to the Senate Finance Committee.
Prime Sponsor Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement after the vote:
“New Hampshire hospitals are overwhelmed, and the staff are working overtime to provide patient care. As of this morning, only 12.3% of our staffed adult ICU beds were available. SB 319 is an effort to reduce the strain and cost caused by COVID-19 on hospitals by providing a wellness incentive for people to voluntarily become fully vaccinated. We know that the only way out of the pandemic is through the majority of the population choosing to receive the safe, effective, and free COVID-19 vaccines. I thank my colleagues for their bipartisan support and look forward to bringing this bill before the House.”
