CONCORD – Today, Republican members of the Senate Finance Committee rejected an amendment presented by Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) and Senator Lou D’Allesandro (D-Manchester) to reinstate funding for over 200 positions in the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
After the vote, Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) and Senator Lou D’Allesandro (D-Manchester) issued the following statement:
“The Department of Health and Human Services is already understaffed and working to recover from the devastating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. By voting to defund these positions, our Republican colleagues not only are restricting the department’s ability to provide direct services to Granite Staters, but they have jeopardized $25 million in federal matching funds.”
