CONCORD – Today, the Senate passed SB 44, Senator Jay Kahn’s (D-Keene) bill to establish the New Hampshire workforce pathway program and commission, in a vote of 22-2.

After the vote, prime sponsor Senator Jay Kahn (D-Keene) issued the following statement:

“The COVID-19 pandemic has ravaged our nation’s workforce. Our legislative work this session needs to help people reenter the workforce with credentials that qualify them for the jobs that are in high demand, and that lift our state’s health and economic recovery.

SB 44 supports pathways into short-term workforce training programs for our most in-demand jobs in health care, advanced manufacturing, technology, trades, and automotives. I thank my Senate colleagues for their support of SB 44, to support New Hampshire employers, workforce, and economic recovery.”
