CONCORD – Today, the Senate unanimously voted Ought to Pass with Amendment on HB 103, establishing a dental benefit under the state Medicaid program. The bill will next be sent to Senate Finance for a public hearing.
After the vote, Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) and Senator Tom Sherman (D-Rye) issued the following statements:
Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) stated, “By enacting an adult Medicaid dental benefit, we enable 100,000 low income, elderly and disabled Granite Staters to take steps to improve their health and their financial security. I am grateful to my Senate colleagues for their continued bipartisan support of this critical issue.”
Senator Tom Sherman (D-Rye) added, “The successful passage of a Medicaid dental benefit truly stands out as an example of what can happen through hard work and collaboration. Thanks to the years-long efforts of Senator Rosenwald in the Senate and Representative Shapiro in the House we as a legislature have a real opportunity to finally expand affordable access to dental care to adult Medicaid recipients. I am thrilled to see this bill moving forward today.”
