CONCORD – Today, the Senate Executive Departments & Administration Committee unanimously passed SB 21 in a vote of 5-0. SB 21 provides that the change to the quorum for the Pease development authority board of directors made pursuant to HB 243, passed in 2019, shall not take effect on April 30, 2021. The quorum required under current law shall remain unchanged.
After the vote, prime sponsor Senator Tom Sherman (D-Rye) issued the following statement:
“Senate Bill 21 represents the final step in years of efforts to update the membership of the Pease Development Authority board of directors to ensure there is fair and adequate representation of all the towns owning land encompassed by Pease. This bill clarifies that the quorum required by statute for the board remains at the current four members. The required quorum was inadvertently increased to five members last year, and this is a simple resolution to that change, and will allow the board to continue their important work.”
