CONCORD – Today, in a 4-1 vote, Republican members voted to reject contracts for New Hampshire’s family planning providers, thereby jeopardizing access to birth control, sexually transmitted infection testing & treatment, and cancer screenings for 12,000 Granite Staters. Democratic Councilor Cinde Warmington was the sole dissenting vote.

Senate Democratic Leader Donna Soucy (D-Manchester) issued the following statement in response:

“I am appalled by today’s vote by Republican members of the Executive Council. Their irresponsible, hyper-partisan actions dangerously jeopardize the health care of 12,000 women and families, all in the name of extremist talking points.”
