CONCORD – Today, the Senate Commerce Committee unanimously voted Ought to Pass with Amendment on HB 448 which establishes a committee to study and compare federal Occupational Safety and Health Act standards with the safety and health standards the New Hampshire department of labor uses for public sector employees.
After the vote, Senator Kevin Cavanaugh (D-Manchester) issued the following statement:
“It is our responsibility to ensure the health and safety of our public sector employees. HB 448 is a commonsense measure to allow the Department of Labor to conduct a comprehensive review of our state level health and safety standards and recommend steps to improve those standards for our public sectors employees. I am grateful to my committee colleagues for their support of this pro-worker legislation.”
