CONCORD - Today, the Senate approved an amendment from Senator Rebecca Perkins Kwoka (D-Portsmouth) to add the language of SB 107, a bill to expand access to federal relief funds for new small businesses that have suffered financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to HB 2.
After the vote, Senator Rebecca Perkins Kwoka (D-Portsmouth) issued the following statement:
"The past year has created an unprecedented level of financial peril for our small businesses. The newer businesses covered in this amendment have been creating new jobs, giving back to their local communities, and contributing to our small business economy despite the increased level of hardship. They have been incredibly adaptive, and we heard countless stories of survival that demonstrate their sheer resiliency and commitment to our state. I am proud to sponsor this amendment which supports our small business economy and moves their recovery efforts forward.”
