CONCORD – Today, the Senate unanimously passed Senator Jay Kahn’s (D-Keene) bill, SB 236 which establishes a committee to study New Hampshire teacher shortages and recruitment incentives.
Prime sponsor Senator Jay Kahn (D-Keene) issued the following statement after the vote:
“While teacher shortages have existed before the COVID-19 pandemic, this shortage has been exacerbated by the stress teachers and schools have faced during the pandemic. As a state, we need to do everything we can to support our educators who have been working tirelessly to keep our kids in the classrooms and provide a quality education despite unprecedented circumstances. I thank my colleagues for their bipartisan support.”
