CONCORD – Today, House Republicans removed language from the state budget to establish an adult Medicaid dental benefit. The original language creating the benefit was introduced in SB 150 by Deputy Senate Democratic Leader Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) and was unanimously passed by the Senate two times before being laid on the table in order to be put in the state budget.
Deputy Senate Democratic Leader Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement in response:
“The Senate unanimously supported adult Medicaid dental benefits twice prior to the budget process. This should have been a cross body priority with active support from Governor Sununu. Instead, House Republicans decided to turn their backs on over 120,000 Granite Staters who would have benefitted from the economic and social advantages of preventative dental care. I am extremely disappointed to see recycled talking points from last session used again today to deny care to people in need.”
