House HHS Committee Passes Healthy Moms and Healthy Babies Act of 2022

CONCORD – Today, in a vote of 17-4 the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs voted Ought to Pass on SB 407, also known as the Healthy Moms and Healthy Babies Act of 2022. Prime sponsored by Senator Sue Prentiss (D-West Lebanon) the Healthy Moms and Healthy Babies Act of 2022 amends the state Medicaid plan to provide 12 months of continuous coverage for new mothers and their babies.
After the vote, Senator Sue Prentiss (D-West Lebanon) issued the following statement:
“The Healthy Moms and Healthy Babies Act of 2022 represents our opportunity to invest in the future of NH families by providing continuous coverage for new moms during this most vulnerable time for both them and their babies There is an increasing burden of medical and psychiatric morbidity during the postpartum period that absolutely must be addressed. Moms, babies, and families cannot afford to wait any longer. I am grateful to my House colleagues for their support.”
