CONCORD - Yesterday, during Governor Sununu’s press conference, the Governor criticized recent comments from the president/CEO of the New Hampshire Health Care Association claiming that New Hampshire nursing homes funded through Medicaid have been denied financial assistance as they continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement in response:

“New Hampshire’s nursing homes and long term care facilities have disproportionately felt the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, 357 long term care residents have passed away from COVID-19. The public money made available through the CAREs Act should be used to protect the health and safety of all of our long term care residents. By denying our Medicaid funded nursing homes the assistance they have requested, Governor Sununu is leaving our most vulnerable citizens to fend for themselves.”
