CONCORD - Today, HB 1129, a portion of the Senate Democrats’ Granite Promise Plan addressing municipal, school district, and village district budgets during the state of emergency was signed into law.

Senator Jon Morgan (D-Brentwood), issued the following statement in response:

“Across New Hampshire, our municipalities have worked hard to navigate the shifting landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic. HB 1129 provides the crucial guidance that our municipalities and school districts need in order to move forward. Municipalities with March and May town meetings can now continue to make reasonable fund expenditures based on the prior fiscal year’s budget, allowing these local governments to continue functioning. I am proud of the bipartisan work done by the Legislature on this critical issue to ensure our municipalities are given the assistance they need.”
