CONCORD - Today, $142 million of federal CAREs Act funding was allocated in a similar manner as proposals laid out in the Senate Democrats’ Granite Promise Proposal in April and this week in legislative hearings. That guidance included recommendations for a housing relief fund, expanded broadband, and relief for homeless shelters.
Following the announcement, Senate Majority Leader Dan Feltes released this statement:
“Senate Democrats have been working on COVID-19 relief and recovery, including the development and distribution of funding guidance since the beginning of this pandemic, since the pandemic hit New Hampshire in March. Granite Promise Plan focused on both the immediate needs of our state as well as the long term impacts of COVID-19, including the need to support frontline workers, support hospitals and health care organizations, shore up small businesses, nonprofits, and farms, and protect the health and safety of every Granite Stater. We appreciate the governor’s attention to our plan and his adoption of our funding proposals, including today’s announcements to provide funding for housing support, homelessness services, and expanded broadband. We look forward to his signature on our additional COVID relief and recovery proposals.”
