CONCORD - Today, Senator Jon Morgan (D-Brentwood) introduced SB 726-FN to the Senate Education and Workforce Development Committee. The bill, referred to as the Veterans Bill of Rights, creates programs designed to aid veterans' access to employment, entrepreneurship, housing, health care, and college degrees.
After the hearing, prime sponsor Senator Jon Morgan (D-Brentwood) issued the following statement:
“New Hampshire has a strong tradition of respect for military service and more than 100,000 veterans call the Granite State home. As a Legislature, we must act to support the growing community of active duty, reserves, and other veterans living and working here, and that’s what the Veterans Bill of Rights will do. Upon passage into law, the Veterans Bill of Rights will assist New Hampshire veterans in starting businesses, finding jobs and apprenticeships matching their skillset, obtaining physical and mental health services, license and certification reciprocation and fighting to end veteran homelessness.”
