CONCORD - Today, Senator Jay Kahn (D-Keene) introduced SB 565 to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration Committee. If enacted, SB 565 would add the chancellor of the university system of New Hampshire to the council of partner agencies in the department of business and economic affairs. The council of partner agencies consults with and advises the commissioner of business and economic affairs with respect to the policy, programs, and operations of the department.
After the hearing, prime sponsor Senator Jay Kahn (D-Keene) issued the following statement:
“The council of partner agencies serves as a way for New Hampshire’s major industries to discuss and collaborate about economic development and workplace strategies that are needed to attract and retain businesses. By adding the chancellor of the university systems of New Hampshire to this body, we create a more equitable system of representation for our education system and further the fiscal discussion of higher education.”
