CONCORD - Today, Senator Chandley introduced SB 655-FN to the Senate Transportation Committee. If enacted, SB 655-FN would eliminate the northbound and southbound ramp tolls for exits 10 and 11 on the F.E. Everett turnpike in Merrimack. This bill follows Senator Chandley’s SB 300 in 2019 and an Executive Council vote that reduced the Exit 11 tolls to $0 on January 1, 2020.
After the hearing, prime sponsor Senator Shannon Chandley (D-Amherst) issued the following statement:
“Last year the Legislature and the Executive Council worked to alleviate part of the burden of tolling the people of Merrimack had been forced to bear. We have already heard positive reactions to the reduction of the Exit 11 tolls; this legislation is simply the next step in providing equity and fiscal relief to Merrimack residents.”
