NH House Committee Considers Effort to Exclude Lobbying and Political Activity from the Rates of Pub

CONCORD—Today, the House Election Law committee held a hearing on SB 206, to exclude the cost of lobbying and political activity from the rates of public utilities. SB 206 passed the New Hampshire Senate unanimously in March.

Prime sponsor Senator Dan Feltes (D-Concord) released the following statement after the hearing:

“New Hampshire energy ratepayers can’t afford to subsidize political activity. SB 206 is a common sense, nonpartisan reform that will make sure the costs of lobbying, candidate contributions, and inaugural slush funds are not part of Granite Staters’ energy bills.”
