CONCORD, NH—Today, the Senate voted 24-0 to pass Senate Bill 194, relative to establishing the Insurance Data Security Law.
Senator Jon Morgan (D-Brentwood), the prime sponsor of SB 194-FN, released the following statement after the vote:
“As data security becomes increasingly relevant in the 21st-century economy, New Hampshire needs to move forward and establish our own data security laws and take measures to safeguard the private health care information of Granite Staters. Today’s unanimous vote to pass SB 194 is a critical step forward to create necessary state standards for licensees for data security and investigations of cybersecurity events.”
