Senate Passes SB 7, Secure Modern Accurate Registration Technology (SMART) Act

CONCORD, NH—Today, the New Hampshire Senate voted 14-10 in favor of SB 7, the Secure Modern Accurate Registration Technology (“SMART”) Act, which would modernize New Hampshire’s election infrastructure and make registration more accessible to eligible Granite State voters.

Senator Melanie Levesque (D-Nashua), prime sponsor of SB 7, released the following statement after the vote:

“It’s all there in the name—the SMART Act is a smart move for New Hampshire that creates a secure, modern, and accurate registration system to safeguard and improve access to our elections. As the first-in-the-nation state, that’s a goal we should all share.”
