New Hampshire Senate Votes to Strengthen Inaugural Committee Transparency
CONCORD—Today, the New Hampshire Senate passed SB 105, 22-2. The legislation would restore public confidence in gubernatorial inaugural committees by limiting contributions and requiring the inaugural treasurer to report individual expenditures over $1,000.
Prime sponsor Senator Feltes (D-Concord) released the following statement after the vote:
“It is our job in the legislature to regulate these inaugural slush funds and I appreciate the work of Senator Birdsell and others on a bipartisan response that curbs unlimited corporate special interest contributions, enhances transparency, and eliminates public perception of possible self-dealing.”
