Senator Feltes Introduces SB 4 to Protect Health Care Access for Granite Staters
CONCORD—Today, Senator Feltes introduced SB 4, relative to the group and individual health insurance market.
Senator Feltes released the following statement after the hearing:
“With the Trump administration’s continued efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, it is more important than ever for us to protect access to quality, affordable health care for all Granite Staters. SB 4 will safeguard the wellbeing of Granite Staters from the attacks lobbed at the ACA from the legislative branch and the federal courts by codifying into state law protections for people with pre-existing conditions and essential health benefits, including maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance use disorder services, and prescription drugs. Preserving essential health benefits for New Hampshire citizens goes to the heart of what it means to have health insurance and what health care we, as a society, want to ensure people can access.”
