CONCORD, NH - The non-partisan Governing Magazine changed its New Hampshire House and Senate projection from “tossup” to “lean Democratic.” They cited the growing momentum for Democrats in the New Hampshire legislative races.

Senate Democratic Leader Donna Soucy issued the following statement:

“Democrats are gaining momentum across the state because voters can see that we are advocating for a New Hampshire that works for everyone, not just those at the top. In our Granite State Opportunity Plan Senate Democrats outlined clear goals and objectives for what New Hampshire can expect to see from a Democratic Senate majority. I’m proud to say our plan benefits Granite Staters across the state from all different walks of life. We still have a lot of work to do to turn a Senate Democratic majority into a reality, but this rating change speaks to a shift that is happening across the state.”

House Democratic Leader Rep. Steve Shurtleff issued the following statement:

“As I’ve traveled around New Hampshire the past few months it has become increasingly clear that there is something happening. The energy I’ve seen from our candidates, volunteers, and voters is a direct result of Granite Staters being fed up with Republican policies that only benefit those at the top. In districts across the state, Democratic candidates are running because, like many voters, they see their elected officials in Concord continuing to fail to represent them. With 28 days left until Election Day there is still a lot of work left to do to get our message out, but I’m not surprised non-partisan organizations are predicting Democratic success in November.”
