NH District 12
Peggy Gilmour is a former State Senator, having first been elected in 2008 and 2012. She is running to once again represent District 12 which includes Brookline, Greenville, Hollis, Mason, New Ipswich, Rindge, and Wards 1, 2, and 5 in the City of Nashua.
Peggy is a native New Englander, born in western Massachusetts. After graduating as an RN from Massachusetts General Hospital, she went on to receive her Masters degree in Nursing from Boston University. She moved to New Hampshire with her husband in 1973 and began her first job as a visiting nurse.
Her interest in community service and healthcare has contributed to great improvements in the state of New Hampshire. As Executive Director of Community Hospice, she led efforts to integrate two VNAs and Hospice to form Home Health and Hospice Care in Nashua. She served as President and CEO of Home Health and Hospice Care for several years. Senator Gilmour has served on the Board of Directors of Neighborhood Health Center for Greater Nashua, the American Cancer Society, the Hunt Community, and was on the Advisory Board to the Hospice Association of America. She is currently on the Board of Directors of NAMI-NH, Gateways Community Services, and the National Hospice Foundation.
During her time in the State Senate, Peggy served on Health and Human Services as Vice Chair, Transportation as Vice Chair, and was on the Fish and Game, and Ways and Means Committees.
Sen. Gilmour lives in Hollis with her husband, David. She is the mother of two children and a grandmother of two.
