Bette Lasky is currently serving her fourth term with the New Hampshire Senate. She was first elected in 2008 and then returned in 2012. She represents District 13 which is comprised of Wards 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 in her hometown of Nashua – the state’s second-largest city.

For the 2014-2015 legislative session, Sen. Lasky serves on the Judiciary Committee and Public & Municipal Affairs. Her legislative priorities include: restoring faith in state government by working together to create needed jobs, supporting accessible and affordable health care, and maintaining a quality, progressive education system to prepare our children for a successful future.

While in the Senate for 2008-2009, she chaired the Election Law and Veterans’ Affairs Committee, was Vice Chairman of Judiciary, and was a member of the Education, Energy and Environment & Economic Development Committees. Prior to the Senate, Bette also served five terms in the House as a State Representative from Nashua. She held the position of Assistant Majority Leader and was also a member of the Judiciary Committee.

Active in local and state politics for many years, Sen. Lasky has been the chairman of the Nashua City Planning Board, a Nashua City Selectman, and Vice Chairman of the Nashua City Committee. In other community service, she has served on the board of directors for Girls Inc., the Disabilities Rights Center, and the NH Association for the Blind.

Bette holds a degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and lives in Nashua with her husband, Dr. Elliot Lasky. They have two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
