RELEASE: Senate Democrats Applaud Bipartisan House Committee Vote in Favor of Family and Medical Leave Insurance

CONCORD – Senator Dan Feltes (D-Concord) and Senator Martha Fuller Clark (D-Portsmouth), cosponsors of HB 628, issued the following statement after today’s bipartisan 13-6 vote by the House Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services committee to move forward with HB 628 to establish paid family and medical leave insurance in New Hampshire:

“We are proud to see the bipartisan vote of the House Labor Committee to finally move forward with family and medical leave insurance legislation, as it is critical to attracting and keeping the workforce we need and to helping combat the opioid public health epidemic. We thank our colleagues in the Labor Committee for coming together to do what’s right for New Hampshire families. Senate Democrats will continue to advocate strongly for passage of this important and necessary legislation in January in the House.”
