RELEASE: Legislation to increase access to renewable energy sources becomes law in New Hampshire

CONCORD- Senator Dan Feltes (D-Concord) released the following statement after SB 129, legislation to expand clean energy and require a portion of the renewable energy fund to benefit low to moderate income residential customers, became law:

“SB 129 goes a long way toward making New Hampshire’s energy market fairer for consumers. Right now, lower to moderate income rate payers in New Hampshire have to overcome significant barriers to access the benefits of net metering and renewable energy in our state. SB 129 will help break down those barriers.”

“Passage of this legislation is great not only for ratepayers but also for the growth of our overall renewable energy market, which has seen significant expansion in New Hampshire. This legislation is projected to help double new solar projects in the state and create more clean energy jobs. I thank my colleagues, particularly Senator Jeb Bradley, for working together in a bipartisan way to make renewable energy sources more accessible to the people of New Hampshire.”
