RELEASE: Senator Woodburn Satisfied with Final Agreement on Legislation to Ratify Results from Postponed Town Elections

CONCORD – Today, the NH House and Senate agreed to the final version of HB 329, which ratifies election results for towns and school districts that rescheduled their elections due to a weather emergency on March 14, 2017. After the final passage of HB 329, Senate Democratic Leader Jeff Woodburn (D-Whitefield) and sponsor of the original ratification legislation, released the following comments:

“I am thrilled the legislature has agreed to this common sense compromise so that our local governments can get back to the business of serving the people of their towns without being trapped in a state of legal limbo. The final version of this legislation maintains the spirit of my original bill and accomplishes the goal we set out to fix just a month ago. I thank my colleagues in the House and Senate who recognized the need for us to act quickly and urge Governor Sununu to sign this legislation into law as soon as possible.”

The NH House and Senate both signed off on a committee of conference report on HB 329 and it now heads to Governor Sununu’s desk for signature.
