RELEASE: Senate Passes Legislation to Enforce New Hampshire’s Election and Lobbying Laws

CONCORD – Today, the Senate passed SB 197, legislation to make an appropriation to the Department of Justice to better enforce New Hampshire’s election and lobbying laws. Senator Dan Feltes (D-Concord) offered the following comments on the bill:

“There’s been a lot of talk in recent weeks about tightening up our election laws. The bipartisan legislation we passed today is a common sense measure to allocate important resources to the Department of Justice to effectively enforce our election, lobbying, campaign finance and transparency laws.”

The Center for Public Integrity recently gave New Hampshire a “D” rating for our failure to enforce these laws.
