Senate Democrats Statement on Fiscally Responsible Budget Agreement

Concord – Senate Democratic Leader Jeff Woodburn issued the following statement on the fiscally responsible compromise budget agreement:

“This is a good, hard-earned compromise. Throughout the entire budget process, Senate Democrats have fought for a fiscally responsible budget that supports critical economic priorities for New Hampshire’s families and businesses such as combating the heroin crisis, higher education, roads and bridges, and health care. This bipartisan compromise allows us to cut business taxes while supporting these critical priorities, protecting our long-term financial outlook, and maintaining our commitment to our dedicated state employees.”

“This bipartisan plan includes most of the priorities that Governor Hassan laid out in her budget proposal in February. I’m grateful that under the Governor’s leadership both sides were able to come together like we did two years ago to develop a responsible budget that meets the needs of our people, businesses, and economy.”
