Capital Budget Supports Important Projects in the Lakes Region
Laconia – Senator Andrew Hosmer (D-Laconia) made the following comments after Governor Hassan signed the state’s capital budget (HB 25) into law:
“The bipartisan capital budget is a great example of what we can accomplish when we work together. I am proud to have supported a capital budget that strengthens our economy, helps to create jobs, and provides critical services to our families and businesses,” saidSenator Hosmer. “I thank Governor Hassan for signing this important legislation into law, as it supports critical projects throughout the state, but particularly in the Lakes Region.”
The capital budget includes $13.5 million for the NH Veterans’ Home to build a 50-bed addition to the Life Enhancement Dementia Unit to help improve services for NH veterans and their families. It also includes funding to complete the Auto Technology building at Lakes Region Community College.
“Our veterans and their families deserve the full care and support that the 50-bed addition to the NH Veterans’ Home will provide them with. And the completion of the Auto Tech building at LakesRegion Community College helps provide our students with the programs and education they need to get good jobs and helps our businesses the skilled workers they need to grow their businesses and our economy.”
