Concord, NH – Today, State Senators Peggy Gilmour and Bette Lasky commented on the Capital Budget Overview Committee’s approval of the Department of Transportation’s use of Toll Credits for the Boston-Lowell-Nashua-
“I applaud the work of the members of the Committee. This is great news for the people of Nashua, who have been frustrated by the last two years of efforts to stop this study supported by citizens and businesses,” said Senator Bette Lasky.
“The Capital Budget Overview Committee got this one right. Passenger rail isn’t a Republican or Democratic issue, it’s something that is supported by the people of Nashua,” said Senator Peggy Gilmour.
This passenger rail study will provide an Alternatives Analysis for rail and transit in the Lowell-Nashua-Manchester corridor, connecting New Hampshire’s major population centers to metropolitan Boston. It will consist of a detail and rigorous alternatives analysis of transit alternatives between Manchester, New Hampshire and Boston, Massachusetts, thought Lowell and Nashua.
Peggy Gilmour of Hollis represents Wards 1, 2, and 5 in the City of Nashua and the towns of Brookline, Greenville, Hollis, Mason, New Ipswich, and Rindge in the State Senate. Bette Lasky of Nashua represents Wards 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 in Nashua in the State Senate.
